Smith & Caughey - Newmarket
Amstar Construction addressed the expansion and upgrade of the upmarket retail store Smith & Caughey’s in Newmarket by undertaking a tricky multi-faceted expansion into an adjacent building, extending the store at the rear and building up a storey with a mezzanine floor. The challenge was to seamlessly merge the spaces into one cohesive retail environment, and to this end, Amstar worked closely with Swan Railley & Associates who designed the expansion.
As part of this project, Amstar also refurbished offices above the original store and built a fire corridor across the two buildings.
